HAIR

“The most important thing for me is to maintain my hair health. To refresh the colour and keep any brassiness at bay, I trim my hair regularly and opt for a toning treatment over dying it too often. A deep repairing treatment such as K18 helps minimise the damage bleaching can do to the hair.”

“For processed hair, the K18 Leave-In mask is my miracle product. It helps reverse any damage by reconnecting the bonds deep in the hair shaft that are broken during bleaching, colouring and chemical treatments. It’s an absolute must for anyone going blonde! I use it after bleaching for the first 5-6 washes after shampooing as a leave-in product as I don’t use conditioner, then every 4-5 washes as maintenance.”

“The Davines Solu Shampoo is my go-to for days when I feel like my scalp has a lot of product build-up or needs an extra deep clean without being too harsh. I use it once every two weeks to give my scalp a fresh start and get rid of the dry shampoo residue. Speaking of dry shampoo, Davines Dry Shampoo is absolutely one of the best I’ve tried and carry a mini one in my bag at all times.”

“Because I heat style my hair, I highly recommend the Milk_Shake Lifestyling Amazing Spray which is a two-in-one anti-humidity and heat protectant that helps your blowout stay smoother for longer – especially in the Dubai summers – and also protects it against the heat of styling tools. The effect of it lasts for two washes afterwards so you don’t need to use it so regularly.”

“I’m currently loving Milk_Shake’s Sun & More haircare range. There’s a leave-in product called Incredible Milk which contains murumuru butter and UV filters, making it perfect for days on the beach or by the pool. We usually apply sunscreen on our skin and always forget our hair, but the sea and chlorine can really damage your hair, so this is a great way to take care of it. The hard water in Dubai is harsh on our hair, so for regular maintenance I use the Milk_Shake Energizing Blend Scalp Treatment which is full of ingredients that stimulate the scalp and promote hair growth.”

“For tools, I love Tangle Teezer brushes and have multiple. They are super gentle, and don’t pull or snag the hair – I’ve have had much less hair breakage since I’ve switched to them. As for heat tools, the GHD Platinum+ Straightener gives me a glossy sleek finish but doesn’t damage my hair, and I can create loose beach waves with it.”

NAILS

“For a treatment, I usually go for a builder gel overlay. My nails have got much stronger and longer since I switched to BIAB instead of regular gel. That means when my nails grow out, I don’t need to buff and soak off in acetone – the technicians just do a refill and it’s gentler on the nail.”

“My favourite nail colours are neutral tones to go with everything I wear – especially the shades ‘Dreamer’ and ‘Lady’ from The Gel Bottle. In the winter, I go a little darker and indulge in warm browns and deeper reds, such as ‘Cocoa’ and ‘Manhattan’ also by the same brand.”

FACE & BODY

“I love Elemis facials! They give great results almost instantly. I also have non-ablative laser facials and get them done regularly with Dr Majd at Alta Derma. No downtime and clear glow-y skin – it’s a no brainer for me.”

“To relax, I like a Moroccan hammam and massage combo – especially in the evening. The combination of the steam and the scrub followed by a full body massage in a candlelit room helps me sleep like a baby. The experience helps me to feel lighter, both physically and mentally.”

RELAXING RITUALS

“I light scented candles to change my mood when I’ve had a long day – my favourite is Acqua di Parma’s Fico Di Amalfi. I also enjoy an indulgent shower product, such as the orange blossom shower oil from Officine Universelle Buly. I finish by spraying a light scent before bed. For me, Guerlain’s Eau de Lit is the perfect light scent to end the day.”

BROWS

“I usually leave my brows alone and just let them grow out – I don’t have very thick brows so I’m very thankful when they’re bushy enough to brush them up!”

TWEAKMENTS

“I try to do Botox twice a year, and no more than that so my body doesn’t develop a resistance to it. I started Botox early, around 27 years old and I think it’s helped keep wrinkles and fine lines at bay. I also do tear trough fillers once a year because I have a lot of volume loss under my eyes, and it makes me look constantly tired. I think I’d like to try HIFU to tighten my jaw area as my next tweakment. I’ve also had laser hair removal and recommend looking for a clinic that uses the Soprano machine as it offers quick results with no pain at all.”

SKINCARE

“On my face, I have products that never leave my rotation. The Elemis Pro Collagen Cleansing Balm is an absolute must in my routine. I also enjoy the Guerlain Abeille Royale Cleansing Oil – it’s got a lovely texture that rids the skin of pollutants and even waterproof make-up. It smells incredible too.”

“To moisturise, I’ve been using Weleda Skin Food for years. I have dry skin and it’s saved me on so many occasions, especially when I travel. It’s multipurpose so I can use it on my cuticles or any body part that needs the extra moisture. I’ve also been using the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream as it gives the skin a healthy glow.

Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream is also a constant in my routine. I love how it hydrates, promotes cellular renewal, supports my skin barrier when it’s irritated, and reduces signs of ageing. At night, my skin is too sensitive for most acids so I stick to azelaic acid most of the time. I apply a thin layer of Skinoren Cream all over my face. It keeps most breakouts as well as irritation at bay.”

MAKE-UP

“I absolutely love sheer complexion products that allow my freckles to show through but give me a glow, such as the Erborian CC Cream and the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint. Another must-have for me is the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette in ‘Sculpture’. It has finishing powder, bronzer, blush and highlighter all in one and gives the most beautiful, diffused skin-like finish. Whenever I do go for a bolder eye, it’s got to be the Charlotte Tilbury pencil in ‘Classic Brown’ smudged along the lash line and finished with a couple of coats of By Mina Al Sheikhly’s Layered Mascara. For a winged liner, I’ve been using Tom Ford’s Eye Defining Pen for as long as I can remember and I haven’t found anything as good.

On the lips, I like to try different products as it’s easy to experiment and switch it up during the day. But one colour that is always with me is Hindash’s Manifesto in ‘Rest in Roses’ which works equally well applied lightly for daytime and layered on more densely for the evening. I put one in every handbag.”

BEAUTY TECH

“When it comes to beauty tech, I’m sceptical. I don’t believe there’s anything in the market that’s powerful enough to make a difference that would be legal to sell to the end consumer. For that reason, I would stick to going to a dermatologist. In terms of non-high-tech tools, I love my Beautifect box, as it provides me with an easy way to organize my makeup, and apply it with perfect lighting anywhere. I also love my Philips electric flosser and Philips Sonicare toothbrush for oral hygiene. Both are like having a dental deep clean daily!”

BEAUTY EXPERIENCES

“Paris and New York are still the top global shopping places for me – especially for fragrance and skincare. For the ultimate experiences, my favourites include Officine Universelle Buly for its beautiful stores and personalisation service. I also love the mineral baths at the spa of the Relais San Maurizio in Italy. The mineralised natural pools are just magical. Lastly, there’s the 16th-century Hürrem Sultan Hamami in Istanbul. Tip: go early in the morning for a solo experience as it’s a communal bath usually!”
